Why you need to connect your Facebook Pixel with your Linktree or TapLink and how?

If you use PAID (!!) Taplink or LinkTree in your link in bio, and you haven't yet connected it to FB Pixel, you are making a rookie mistake. Let’s start from the basics:

What is FB Pixel?

Why you need to connect your Facebook Pixel with your Linktree or TapLink and how

FB Pixel is a Java script code that allows you to track all (or almost all, damn you iOS14) website visitors for retargeting purposes. You can gain an overall understanding what kind of people are interested in your services (for acquisition campaigns and building lookalike audiences).

What is Taplink or Linktree?

These are the tools that allow you to create a micro landing page connected to your IG account to drive your followers to multiple destinations (TikTok, YouTube, your website, RealSelf/Yelp, appointment form, monthly specials, offers, media about you, etc.)

Why do we need to connect them?

If you want to be able to retarget everyone who clicked on your link in bio (meaning the warmest audience) and build better lookalikes for acquisition campaigns, you MUST connect your Pixel with your Taplink or Linktree.

Example:

Imagine this: you are a plastic surgeon (because why not). Someone has followed you (once in a blue moon, thanks to the new IG algorithm). They liked your Before and Afters and your awesome deep blue scrubs. They decided to check out more information about you (maybe it comes in different colors on other channels of yours). They clicked on your Taplink/Linktree link in bio and went to TikTok to watch you dancing (like it could help to sell your services) or to RealSelf to read how awesome you are shooting TikTok videos in navy blue scrubs in your surgical suite. They did not go to your website (cus who needs the website when they can make a decision based on your TikTok). Now, your FB pixel, installed on the website with care and love by your website developer, is useless for retargeting purpose. They are interested in your services but they haven't visited your website - you can't reach to them with sponsored ad and new videos of your dances.

And that’s exactly why you must do the following now:

  • Go to your website developer or social media manager and ask them for your FB Pixel ID.
  • Now go to your Taplink or LinkTree account.
  • Open Settings and add FB Pixel ID there.

Done! Now no one escapes from being tracked and retargeted. Muahaha.
